Goodsport Racing continues to prepare for the longest road race in America, the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Goodsport Racing will be campaigning an '08 Mitsubishi Lancer and an '04 Mitsubishi Evolution in an attempt to better last year's 2nd place finish in class with the Evolution.
We are happy to announce the involvement of Grassroot Motorsports Magazine in this year's effort. J. G. Pasterjak, GRM Production Manager and resident enduro expert, will be joining us as a driver in the '08 Lancer. J. G. has driven with some quality teams in the past, and we hope to rise to the occasion and make sure his experience this year is the best yet. GRM has set aside a page on their web site to chronicle the progress of the build and the race, so check back at http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com for more information.
We are delighted to have a full roster of experienced drivers for the Lancer, including Ralph Alexander, Yang Tang, Art Muncheryan, and Ken Mollenauer.
Ralph has been racing for over 30 years and has coached almost all of us at one time or another. His experience in Group C racing in the 80's leaves not doubt about his ability to handle the 152hp Lancer.
Yang is an up and coming driver from Northern California. Yang is this year's recipient of the Russell Racing Scholarship, and has scored some impressive results in the '07 Formula Russell series.
Art Muncheryan has been racing with the SCCA and NASA for many years in vehicles ranging from an ITB 2002 to an ITS 240z, and most recently, a GTA stock car. Art has many wins to his credit, and is looking forward to using his excellent night driving skills in the race.
Finally, Ken Mollenauer is a very experienced SCCA racer from Northern California. With many wins to his credit, Ken's experience will be invaluable in this year's 25 Hour effort.
Goodsport Racing is pleased to announce Innovate Motorsports as a new sponsor for this race, joining Robispec, provider of suspension parts and tuning, and FIAMethod4, a San Francisco street and race preparation company.
Innovate Motorsports, makers of wide-band O2 sensors and data acquisition hardware, have graciously provided an 'all in one' wideband O2 sensor along with a 32 channel data acquistion system for the Lancer. Goodsport Racing has been running Innovate data products since the initial build of the Evolution in '05, and they have significantly contributed to our ability to run without mechanical problems.
With 60 days before the green flag drops, we have our hands full completing the build. Fortunately, the hard parts are done and we should be ready for competition very soon.
